Chelsie grew up on a small family-run dairy farm in southwest Minnesota and is passionate about increasing mental health awareness and support in rural communities. She takes a strengths-based, person-centered approach to counseling and believes there is value in experiencing the full range of emotions life brings. Chelsie works alongside clients to help them embrace their authentic selves while navigating life’s transitions and challenges. After moving to Jamestown nearly a decade ago, she has built a life there with her husband, dog Ruby, and cat Leo.

Chelsie provides counseling services for adolescents and adults, while also working with children and families. She uses techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Brainspotting, and Child-Parent Relationship Therapy. Her professional background includes experience in both school and clinical counseling settings, and she values creating a supportive, collaborative therapeutic relationship grounded in authenticity and trust.

Chelsie earned bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and English from Augustana University and a master’s degree in Counseling from Minnesota State University, Mankato. She also completed additional clinical counseling coursework through Minnesota State University Moorhead. During her internship at Prairie St. John’s Psychiatric Hospital, she worked with adolescents and adults experiencing acute mental health crises.

Outside of work, Chelsie enjoys spending time in nature, reading, cooking, gaming, singing in the local women’s choir, and being with her nieces and nephews.
